I’m back || Update

How are you all? I know it’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything on here, my life has been a lot busier than before but with it now being the new year I really want to focus on blogging again, I’ve seriously missed it, and the community that comes along with it too! I thought the best way to start this off would be to do a little update for you all, especially since I’ve been gone for so long now.

So since my last post which was in June (I still can’t believe it’s been that long) I’ve made quite a big change in my life and I guess the path I plan on going down for a career and that is that I decided to go back and studying something new. Since August last year, I’ve been going to college in Glasgow and learning all about jewellery design and I have just been absolutely loving it. Something that has always been extremely important to me is that no matter what it is that I end up doing for a job I need to love it, there’s no way I’m spending what is the majority of my life working in a job that I hate, I just don’t want to be doing that. For a while before applying for this I really tried to figure out different careers that I would enjoy, I knew I wanted to go down the creative route and the idea of being able to be my own boss is something that I also really like so this was just a no-brainer for me, plus I’ve always had an interest in jewellery and I love being able to work with my hands. The course I’m currently doing right now is only a year, and then after that, I’ve applied to move onto the next one which is a two-year course and not too long ago I was given a conditional offer for it, so that’s great. The course itself so far has been amazing, a lot of hard work but very rewarding. I’ve completed the first block which was all about Wabi-Sabi, this means we had to design jewellery based on this theme, I’ll add some photos of the two pieces I designed and made in this post for you all, they were so much fun to do, it was my first time ever making proper jewellery though so they’re not perfect, but that’s Wabi-Sabi I guess haha! There is a lot of sketchbook work you need to do but when it comes to the stage where you get to make your designs it’s crazy to be able to hold in your hand something that was once just an idea in your mind, we started the second block before Christmas which is on architecture so I’ll be sure to keep you updated on that.

So yea, that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing for the past 5/6 months of my life, I mainly just wanted to focus on this course and to make sure I get my bearings with it all, but I’m back now and I’ve already got a few blog posts planned so keep your eyes open for that.

What have you all been up to?
